Lazy Boy Outdoor Furniture

With the recent announcement of the partnership between Lazy Boy Incorporated and Brown Jordan International, Inc., the furniture market was ripe for a significant change. Perhaps the most significant outcome of this partnership was the introduction of the first Lazy Boy outdoor furniture line for the luxury market. Under the terms of the partnership, Brown Jordan International will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and marketing a variety of high-end outdoor furniture under the Lazy Boy name. The Lazy Boy outdoor furniture line was initially set to launch in the United States and Mexico, coinciding with an online launch. Other retailers have bee identified for future expansion.

Lazy Boy has been in the business of manufacturing quality furniture for more than 80 years, and its status as a household name is testament to its success. With the launch of Lazy Boy outdoor furniture, the company’s focus on providing a wide variety of comfortable and high quality furniture to the consumer market comes to the fore. As Lazy Boy brand marketing vice president Jennifer Sievertsen said, the company was pleased to be working with Brown Jordan International and the new designs bode well for the future of this particular line.

Brown Jordan International’s vice president for national accounts and direct imports Chris Carmicle also expressed satisfaction with the partnership with Lazy Boy, emphasizing the benefits of being affiliated with such a well-known brand. This is especially important given the increasing focus on outdoor comfort in the modern day furniture industry. With the combination of Brown Jordan International’s manufacturing consistency and Lazy Boy's powerful market presence, it is expected that the furniture line will capture a whole new market of costumers eager for a high quality outdoor furniture solution from a proven name.

The initial salvo of the launch is represented by what the company calls the “first fully functional recliner (…) for outdoor use”. Initially having been launched through Sam's Clubs, the recliner is intended for later distribution at other key outlets all over the country.

The largest producer of upholstered furniture in North America, Lazy Boy is best known for producing a selection of reclining chairs. With its headquarters located in Michigan, the company also produces a variety of items for use in the home, including living and family room furniture, sofas, loveseats, and various other types of chairs. Lazy Boy is a division of Lazy Boy Incorporated, which is one of the biggest furniture manufacturers and marketers in the country.

Brown Jordan International for its part is a company that is responsible for designing, manufacturing and retailing a variety of furniture selections under contractual arrangements. Among the brand names that Brown Jordan International has been affiliated with in the past are Winston, Loewenstein, Indx, Charter, Wabash Valley, Texacraft, and Tropic Craft. The company’s headquarters can be found in Florida, although the company also maintains several offices in the United States as well as other countries. With this partnership, the furniture industry is definitely set for a significant change.
